Aerosol coverage examples:
  • 1 can per wheel/rim.
  • 2-4 cans per axle housing (depending on housing size).
  • 2-4 cans per bumper.
  • 20-24 cans per Ultra4 chassis.
  • 26-30 cans per rock bouncer chassis.
  • 12 cans per side by side (SXS) chassis.
  • 30-36 cans per trophy truck chassis/suspension arms.

The STEEL-IT Polyurethane Coating System features a unique stainless steel leafing pigment, and provides optimum weather, abrasion, and corrosion resistance in off-road racing applications. 

This single component coating does not require complicated mixing. Apply it directly from the can, it is air dried and requires no baking or heating. 

Application Guide:

1 aerosol can of STEEL-IT Polyurethane Aerosol (black and gray) has practical coverage of roughly 15 square feet per aerosol can, when applied at the recommended 16 mils wet film thickness to achieve 3 mils (.003” or 75 microns) dry film thickness (DFT) per coat. We recommend a minimum of 4 heavy coats to achieve proper build up.

Apply direct to metal with no primer if you wish to weld through the product in the future. Steel-It paint is weldable and does not need to be removed to make repairs or additions to chassis, roll cages, suspensions, etc.
